Rendering Part 4

Where We Left Off

I had completed the triangle of the face, the eyes, nose, and mouth.

The Forehead and the Cheek

I move on to the forehead, blocking everything in.

I block in the values of the model’s right cheek.

I’ve also fixed a problem with the shape of a highlight on the right cheek. It was reaching a little too far out of its proper region, so I pushed its boundary back a little. It’s now a little smaller – a little shorter, a little narrower.

Fixing a Mistake

Sometimes things like this will happen. I didn’t notice an error in the drawing until I got to this point in the rendering.

I noticed a problem with the spacing between the shirt collar and the edge of the beard. I want to fix that now before I get to rendering the beard and eventually the clothes.

Finishing Out

I model out the forehead, blending things together well. I bring the values of the cheek to their proper darkness.

With this session, the face is fully covered, not counting the hair.
