Rendering Part 2

Modeling

I model the face, introducing areas of transition (blending). I’m still sticking to the two graphite lead grades of H and HB, keeping my values from going too far dark at this point.

At this point, values are so close together that it’s hard to see definition. However, at this point I have to trust the process. Those darker shades are coming next.

Introducing the Darkest Darks

I add a 2B lead to my shading. I use it to deepen the darks that turn away from the light and don’t get a lot of bounced light like crevices of the eyelids, the eyelashes, eyebrows, creases of the lips, etc.

Now, the face looks like it has better depth.

Continuing the Rendering

I add more values, defining more features and block in the neck.
